Happy Sunday y’all! I think I’ve finally gotten into the routine of posting a little more regularly (about time). I’m in the process of putting together a lot of fun Fall content for you so stay tuned! Crazy to think tomorrow is the first official day of Fall already. I swear – growing up, time went so much slower. As an adult, it goes so dang fast! Anyway, I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love this time of year. The leaves changing, perfect weather, bonfires, pumpkin everything, being cozy at home… The list goes on. I love Summer (not a fan of Winter), but I could seriously settle for Fall and everything that comes with it year-round.
Today I wanted to tell you guys about a little something that’s about to make my Fall (and hopefully yours!) even better! I recently partnered with an amazing brand (Winc) to share with you guys. They also gave me a discount code so keep reading if you like wine + like saving money 😉

What is Winc?
If you love wine (who doesn’t?), this post is for you! Basically, Winc is a monthly wine subscription box that ships directly to your doorstep. Enough said, right? It’s such a unique and fun way to have the opportunity to try new wines. Each month, you receive several bottles of wine all at a very affordable price point. Many of these wines are exclusive to Winc so you can’t find them elsewhere which I think is pretty cool too.
I don’t really like going out and partying/going to bars and all of that so much anymore. I would much rather be at home curled up with a glass of wine and a movie or a good book. So if that sounds like you too, this is honestly an ideal situation. It would also be great for a girl’s night or date night. Also a great option if you like to entertain often (they offer a 10% discount on your order if you purchase 12 bottles or more). And with the holidays right around the corner, I think this would make an awesome gift. They have gift cards as well as several gift boxes you can choose from.
I know personally I stay within my comfort zone and stick to what I know more often than not with many things in life (a habit I’m really trying to break), including wine. So I like that this pushes me to try new things and experiment with wines that I may have never considered otherwise. I like that element of surprise and trying something fun and different.
How does it work?
Getting started with Winc is really simple. All you have to do is go to their website and take a short 6 question quiz. Based on your responses, Winc selects 4 wines for you that they think you would enjoy. You can either go with their picks, change out a few or completely modify your box and choose your own. Each wine on their website has a detailed description about the taste, what it pairs well with, ratings from other members – all of that good stuff so you really get a feel for what you’re ordering.
If you order your first box through my link, you’ll get 4 bottles for just $39 + free shipping which is pretty much a steal -> I Love Wine – Sign Me Up!
Since it is alcohol that’s being delivered to you, you do have to be there when it’s delivered or pick it up from FedEx. Either way, you are required to show your ID. Delivery was super fast. I placed my order late on a Thursday morning and it was delivered first thing Saturday morning.
They also have an app where you can make adjustments to your monthly order, leave your ratings and reviews on the wines you’ve tried, see what wines they currently have available and more. By leaving ratings on the ones you have tried, they are better able to pair you with wines for your future orders based on what you did or didn’t like.
I received my order a few weeks ago, but I’ve been waiting to share it because I wanted to make sure I could provide you with a thorough review, have a chance to try each wine and give you as much detail as possible. I know personally when I’m purchasing something, reading reviews is really important to me so I always try to be very thorough any time I recommend products to you too.
So what’s the catch?
Honestly, I don’t think there is one. Not from what I’ve seen so far at least. As with anything I blog about, I am not out to promote products and/or brands that I wouldn’t or don’t use myself. Winc is certainly no exception. Winc is a membership/subscription service, but all that really means for you is that you get wine at a discounted rate. There is no sign-up fee, no membership fee and no cancellation fee if you decide you don’t want it anymore. You can also skip a month anytime you want as well.
Basically, by being a member, you’re receiving at minimum 3 bottles a month at $39 + tax and $9 for shipping. However, anytime you order 4 or more bottles, shipping is free. Bottles start at $13 a piece and vary from there, but there is a huge selection to choose from and a variety of price points.
Personally, I think there is a lot to love about Winc. The convenience, the price point, the selection and who doesn’t love receiving a package in the mail every month (especially when it’s wine and not a bill). Also, if you were to not like a bottle that they sent you for some reason, they will credit your account the full value of the bottle to apply toward your next shipment. They have a very thorough FAQ page as well if you have more questions about something I may not have answered here.
What was in my first box?
For my first box, I did switch up the box and chose my own wines. I tried to pick a variety, but I definitely have a preference for sweeter, fruity wines.
Here’s what I got:
- Loves Me Not White Blend – a fruity white wine with hints of apricot, lychee, peach and white flowers
- Far + Wide Frappato – light-bodied red wine with hints of rhubarb, strawberry, tart cherry and violet
- Yé-Yé Tempranillo – a Spanish Wine w/ hints of cocoa, red cherry, sage and strawberry
- Matchlock Cabernet Sauvignon – a dry, fruity red wine with hints of black cherry, blackberry, chocolate and baking spice
I have had a chance to try them all now and I would have to say Matchlock was my favorite with Far + Wide coming in at a close second. However, I truly did enjoy them all! While I am no wine expert, I think the overall concept of Winc is so fun! I am definitely looking forward to my next box. I think next time, I would just go with their selections rather than picking my own just for fun. What’s your go-to wine?
Have a great week!
XO,
Ashley
